    Advanced Academics includes courses, programs, assessments, services and supports that provide opportunities for students to demonstrate college and career readiness and earn postsecondary credit.

    Red Oak ISD offers a full program for advanced academics:

    • Elementary: Pull-out Gifted and Talented classes
    • Middle School: Honors core academic classes 
    • High School:
      • Honors courses
      • Advanced Placement (AP) courses
      • Dual Credit courses 
      • Dual Credit Career and Technical courses
      • Hawk Scholar's Academy through Navarro College and University of Texas at Arlington

    *Please note that applications for grade advancement and credit-by-exam without prior instruction are available in campus Counselors' offices. Windows for application are as follows:

    • First Monday in May – First Monday in June (for June testing) for grades 1-12 and all kindergarten acceleration
    • First Monday in June – First Monday in July (for July testing) for grades 1-12
    • First Monday in October – First Monday in November (for December testing) for grades 1-12
    • First Monday in November – First Monday in December (for January testing) for grades 1-12
