Attention to Parents of Students
If your child is eligible to ride a school bus, please fill out the appropriate Transportation Request online form. The online form requires you to download a copy of the Transportation Rules and Regulations and then fill out an electronic signature to acknowledge that you have read the rules and regulations. The online form needs to be submitted to the Student Transportation Department prior to transport.
Request forms for the 2024-25 school year are below.
Eligibility
The Texas Education Agency, along with our local Board of Trustees, provides the opportunity for bus transportation for eligible students. The guidelines from the state are very rigid and must be followed. Rider eligibility is determined by the state as follows: “Transportation is only for those students who reside two or more miles from their assigned campus of regular attendance, measured by the shortest traveled route used by the public (not the way the bus may travel).” The two-mile marker may fall between two neighbors located on the same street. Walking into the eligible area to catch the bus is strictly prohibited. This prohibition will be enforced.
ID Required
Red Oak ISD always looks for ways to provide a safe environment for students. All eligible student bus-riders attending Secondary Schools (6-12) will be asked by their driver to present their student identification card. If your child loses their badge, we ask that they visit the campus office as soon as possible to get a replacement. Thank you for your support and please help us by reminding your rider to always have their student ID badge.
Please also note that buses are considered as an extension of each campus. The same rules and dress menu options apply. Students are not allowed to change clothes after school if they intend to ride the bus home.
Lost & Found Items
If your student has lost or found an item on the bus, please have them inform their bus driver. Drivers are asked to keep a log of any items that are lost or found on their bus. Parents may also contact the Transportation office at (972) 617-5101.
