    Advanced Academics includes courses, programs, assessments, services and supports that provide opportunities for students to demonstrate college and career readiness and earn post-secondary credit.

    Red Oak ISD offers a full program for advanced academics:

    • Elementary: Pull-out Gifted and Talented classes
    • Middle School: Honors core academic classes 
    • High School:

      • Advanced Placement (AP) courses
      • Dual Credit courses 
      • Dual Credit Career and Technical courses

    Please see a campus counselor for grade advancement and credit-by-exam without prior instruction applications. The windows for filling out applications are as follows:

    Window 1 – Beginning of the Year (placement for Fall semester) 4th Week of July – 1st Week of Aug. 2nd Week of Aug. – 1st Week of Sept.
    Window 2 – Mid-year 1 (placement for Spring semester) 1st Week of Nov. – 2nd Week of Nov. Week before Thanksgiving Break
    Window 3 – Mid-year 2 (placement for Spring semester) 2nd Week of Jan. – 3rd Week of Jan. Last Week of January
    Window 4 – End of Year (placement for Fall semester) 2nd Week of May – 1st Week of Jun. 2nd Week of June
