BREAKFAST AND LUNCH INFORMATION
Beginning in the 2024-2025 school year, all Red Oak ISD students can receive FREE breakfast and lunch meals through the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP), a national program for schools in qualifying areas. The program also eliminates the collection of meal applications which reduces burdens for both families and school administrators and helps ensure that students receive nutritious meals.
The program will allow ALL Red Oak ISD students to choose an entrée, grain, veggie, fruit, and milk for meals at breakfast and lunch. The program does not cover additional items including, but not limited to, second entrees or meal items, ala carte, snacks, etc. Families can still use SchoolCafe for accounts if they wish to purchase items outside the CEP meal.
Red Oak ISD must still collect and report the socioeconomic status of each student via a socioeconomic information form (SIF) which has been added to the enrollment and registration packet. Parents/caregivers may be asked to resubmit the form if the information was not completed during enrollment. Changes to the SIF may be submitted through a paper form at your student’s campus. The information collected is sent to the Texas Education Agency (TEA) to ensure campuses receive federal and state funds appropriately and to ensure campuses are compared to similar campuses.
Red Oak ISD provides nutritious breakfast and lunches through the federal meal program for all students (Grades PreK-12). Menus are available at each school and online.
STUDENT MEAL PRICES:
- Breakfast – Elementary and Middle School $1.40; High School $1.60
- Lunch - Elementary $2.90; Middle School $3.00; High School $3.10
STAFF AND VISITOR MEAL PRICES:
- Breakfast – $3.00; Lunch - $4.00
Red Oak ISD uses the SchoolCafe student meal account platform for meals and payments. Parents can now apply for free or reduced meals, check student balances, view menus, and add/transfer funds to their student’s account – all in one easy login. Students who have overdrawn accounts will receive alternative, reduced-cost meals which will still meet the required nutritional values until the balance is paid.
Visit www.schoolcafe.com/REDOAKISD to sign up. For additional information, call the Student Nutrition Department at 972-617-2941.
