Summer Camps and Programs

  • ROISD Summer School

    Red Oak ISD offers an array of academic summer programs for enrichment, intervention, and credit recovery during summer school. The campus identifies elementary students to participate in interventions to support academic success the following school year, while secondary students can retake classes they have taken and not passed for course credit. Emergent Bilingual Summer School is offered for students entering kindergarten or first grade who qualify for bilingual or English as a Second Language (ESL) service. Extended-year services are available for special education students with an identified need for extended services.

    Hawk SAT Testing Boot Camp

    We are providing an SAT Boot Camp FREE of charge for current Red Oak juniors and seniors to increase academic preparedness, and improve college readiness. The goal is to maximize scores and increase student chances of admission to their desired colleges and universities. We will focus on content as well as test-taking strategies.

    ROISD Summer Enrichment Camp

    Red Oak ISD is hosting an amazing opportunity this summer for ROISD students entering grades 3-5 and 6-8 with a four-day Summer Enrichment Camp with unique and exciting sessions for each grade group. The camp will take place July 15-18 from 8:30-11:30 a.m. at Schupmann Elementary. Slots will be filled first-come, first served and the camp cost is $70 including materials.

    Red Oak Archery Camp

    ROMS Archery Team sponsor Bryan Bell is hosting the Red Oak Archery Camp May 28-31. Each camper can pick from four time slots for the 2-hour camp each day for the four-day camp for just $40. The camp is for students in 5th grade and up (for the 2024-25 school year). Register by May 14th to guarantee your camp shirt. Proceeds benefit the ROMS Archery Team.

    ROHS LIFE - Living in Fullness Everyday

    Red Oak ISD also offers an assortment of summer athletic camps, and high school students can participate in LIFE – Living in Fullness Everyday camp through the Drug Prevention Resources organization in partnership with Red Oak High School. LIFE camp, offered FREE to high school students in Red Oak, includes life skills, financial literacy, safety and social media, college prep sessions, entrepreneurship, team activities, and more. Our goal is to provide students with valuable education on a variety of mental, physical, and emotional wellness topics, as well as providing a fun and social environment! We hope to send the students into the remainder of the summer with healthy choices at the forefront of their minds. Contact Jeremiah Gaines at jeremiah.gaines@redoakisd.org to sign up.

    • Lone Star Leadership Academy
      Summer Camps for Outstanding 4th-8th graders
      Outstanding students from across Texas meet in Dallas/Fort Worth, Austin/San Antonio, or Houston/Galveston for a week of fun, learning, leadership development, and visits to unique and historically significant Texas destinations. Each day students explore notable Texas sites, learn about unique careers from professionals at sites visited, and develop their leadership abilities during leadership groups with their facilitators. All adult facilitators, one for every ten students, are Texas teachers.     • TCU Summer Reading Skills Online Programs

    Programs for 4-year-olds and students entering kindergarten - 11th grades
    Offered by Texas Christian University, Office of Extended Education. The emphasis of the program is on reading skills, which include phonics, fluency, comprehension, love of reading, textbook skills, and reading speed. The programs bring together great books and proven online reading instruction from a dedicated and inspiring teacher. These popular classes are designed and taught by instructors from the Institute of Reading Development. Tuition varies by program level. Please ask about our family discount.     • Enroute Academy of the Arts
      Art camp at En Route Academy is full of creativity, art exploration, and SO MUCH FUN! 🎨 Your kids will explore the introductory techniques of fine realistic drawing, cartooning skills, acrylic painting, and sculpting with air-dry clay - all with one of our professional art instructors. All supplies are included, plus cupcakes on the last day! 🧁 Please pack a non-refrigerated, pre-packaged snack and water bottle for your child daily. The camps will be kept to a limited number of students, allowing more attention for each child. Each camp is custom-tailored to its specific age group.       Summer camps for a variety of ages and topics include movies, puppet theater, dance, and a variety of audition and theater opportunities. Ellis County Children’s Theater (ECCT) is a 501(c) 3 non-profit organization, founded by Gail Stutts Harrell in 2008. We provide local artists, professional teachers, and directors an organization in which they may collaborate and coordinate skills in creating a rich educational environment for children living in southern Dallas and surrounding counties. It is the mission of Ellis County Children’s Theater to provide exceptional theater arts education to children in Ellis and surrounding counties in grades Kindergarten through twelfth.  We provide transformative, life-changing opportunities with the intention of creating a world of imaginative expression resulting in expanded, positive thinking.

    • The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden
      The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden presents children’s summer camps that spark imagination in STEM and nature from June 5 to August 4, 2023. Designed for students entering first through sixth grades in fall 2023, all camps run Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Pricing for this year’s camps ranges from $285-300 per week, with specific details and registration available at dallasarboretum.org/camps.
