ROISD Employee Process Map for COVID-19

    PRIOR TO SCHOOL

    Employee is TEST-confirmed to have COVID-19.

    • The employee does not report to work or participate in other work activities.
    • Employee follows department/campus absence reporting procedures.
    • The employee will follow up with a health care provider for guidance on when they are clear to return to work.
    • The employee will submit a copy of their doctor’s release note to their supervisor that confirms their return to work date.
    • CDC recommends wearing a mask for 10 days after the onset of symptoms or positive test.
    • Upon notification of a lab-confirmed COVID-19 positive on a campus, the district will report to TDSHS as required.

    Employee has one or more COVID-19 symptoms in the morning BEFORE coming to school and is SUSPECTED of having COVID 19.

    • The employee does not report to work or participate in other work activities.
    • Employee follows department/campus absence reporting procedures.
    • The employee will follow up with a health care provider for guidance on when they are clear to return to work.
    • The employee will submit a copy of their doctor’s release note to their supervisor that confirms their return to work date.
    • CDC recommends wearing a mask until day 10 of symptoms or positive test.

    Employee reports having “close contact” with someone who is TEST-confirmed to have COVID-19.

    • Employee shall report to work and monitor their health as usual.
    • CDC recommends wearing a mask until 10 days after contact.

    Employee reports someone in their home was exposed to someone who is TEST-confirmed to have COVID-19.

    • Employee shall report to work and monitor their health as usual.

    AT SCHOOL

    Employee develops one or more symptoms of COVID-19 during the school day.

    • Employee should contact a health care provider for guidance.

    CLOSE CONTACT DEFINITION

    Someone who was less than 6 feet away from an infected person (laboratory-confirmed or a clinical diagnosis) for a cumulative total of 15 minutes or more over a 24-hour period (for example, three individual 5-minute exposures for a total of 15 minutes). An infected person can spread SARS-CoV-2 starting 2 days before they have any symptoms (or, for asymptomatic people, 2 days before the positive specimen collection date).
