Mr. Jason Nitsch

Mr. Nitsch has served Red Oak ISD as the Director of Fine Arts since 2022, and oversees all of our fine arts programs K-12 at each of our campuses.

Jason is a graduate of Baylor University (BME '00) and Boston University (MM '08) where he has earned degrees in Music Education. He is also in the final steps (ABD) of earning his Doctorate (DMA) In Music Education from Boston University where his research interest is focused on how students perceive their own success and failure in the classroom.

Prior to his appointment here in Red Oak, Jason served as the Director of Bands at Memorial High School in Frisco, TX, having built the band program from the ground up when the school opened in 2018. In prior years Jason served as the Director of Bands at Fountain-Fort Carson High School in Colorado, the Associate Director of Bands at Klein Collins High School (TX) and Deer Park High School (TX), and as an Assistant Director at Dulles and Lake Olympia Middle Schools (TX).

In addition to his teaching duties, from 2014-2018 Jason served as the Executive Director of the Altitude Performing Arts Association in Colorado Springs, CO, an organization that he helped found to bring positive and meaningful musical performance experiences to underserved areas of Southern Colorado. Jason is also a published composer with several dozen publications from various publishing companies, has released three albums of original works, provided the musical score for several independent films, and is the writer, producer, and composer for the "Beyond the Belt Adventures from the Outer Rim" podcast.

Jason is proud to serve the faculty and students of Red Oak ISD and looks forward to seeing you at one of the many performances that our students present across our community each year!
