  • Our vision is to provide quality meals for students, staff, and visitors, by promoting healthy habits for lifelong nutrition and fitness practices, and our mission is to contribute to the health and well-being of every student, in order for each student to learn and perform at the highest level. 

    Nutrition Policy

    The Red Oak ISD School Nutrition Department participates in the National School Lunch Program, and the School Breakfast Program. Our team of food and nutrition professionals are dedicated to providing the best in customer care by serving safe, quality meals while meeting all state, (TDA) and federal government (USDA) guidelines.   All meals, snacks, and beverages sold or served by the Student Nutrition Department meet the requirements of the Healthy Hunger Free Kids Act and the Smart Snacks in School policy. We encourage students to make healthy meal choices by providing access to a variety of healthy menu options, and daily choices of fresh fruits and vegetables.

    School Cafe

    RED OAK ISD IS OFFERING UNIVERSAL FREE BREAKFAST FOR ALL STUDENTS THIS YEAR!

    Red Oak ISD Student Nutrition Department offers a way to put money in your child's lunch account using School Cafe. Online deposits may be made through School Cafe. Parents are able to register for an account and view information for free. Parents are also able to view account balances or recent purchases in the school cafeteria, add money to their child's account, transfer account balances between siblings, set up low balance alerts, and view menus.

    Cafeteria & Student Nutrition

    • All ROISD Student Nutritional staff are Serve Safe Certified.
    • Staff will use gloves when preparing and serving meals.
    • ROISD cafeterias will be cleaned and disinfected daily. 
    • ROISD serving and eating areas are cleaned and tables are sanitized between uses.
    • Students must properly wear IDs at breakfast and lunch to ensure efficient scanning of IDs for payment.
    • Parents who pack a lunch for their students should pack items that are easily opened by the student to avoid the handling of their food by others.
    • Students may not share food due to allergy restrictions.

    To file a program discrimination complaint, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, AD-3027, found online at How to File a Program Discrimination Complaint and at any USDA office or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form.
