Attendance Campaigns
-
Classroom attendance is tied to classroom success. Statistics show students who attend school every day have higher grades and lower discipline issues! When students are absent, they miss opportunities to learn, build friendships, and develop the skills and attitudes needed to become good citizens. The Red Oak ISD Attendance Campaigns encourages students to be at school every day, be on time every day and stay all day. The fact is that attendance raises a student’s chance of scoring well on exams and securing college admission.
Did you know that high school graduates earn 38% more than those who drop out and college graduates bring in 140% more?
How do Attendance Campaigns work?
ROISD provides incentives for perfect attendance by awarding prizes at the end of the school year. Beginning in the 2023-2024 school year, all students who had perfect attendance received a $50 gift card and were celebrated at an ROISD Board Meeting.
In addition, ROISD celebrates teacher attendance and student/teacher attendance at each campus.
-
- Individual employees from each campus who have 2 or fewer absences are eligible for a semester (fall and spring) drawing for a $500 drawing.
- The elementary and secondary school with the highest combined staff and student attendance for the year received $2,500.
