• ROHS Alumni Association selects Kevin Stanford as 2009 Distinguished Alumni

     

         Kevin, who is a 1976 ROHS Graduate, is currently the Assistant Superintendent of Schools for Huntsville ISD.  Kevin is married to Carla Jeffries Stanford, who also graduated from ROHS in 1979.  He has two children, Alyssa and Brice.  Kevin's mother, Sylvia Stanford Smith, is also a 1954 ROHS graduate.

    Kevin played football for the RO Hawks and was named to “all district” teams and honored as MVP his junior and senior years.  He also received the Outstanding Athlete award his senior year. Kevin was a member of the charter Hawk Band, was Senior Class President and also played basketball, baseball, golf, tennis and ran track.  His doubles tennis team won the District championship.

    Kevin received his bachelor's degree from University of Texas at Arlington and Master's Degree from TWU. He was an assistant principal at Bedford Jr. High and coached football and soccer at L.D. Bell high school.  He was principal at Pine Tree and Van high schools before becoming Keren's Superintendent in 2006.

    Kevin grew up in Red Oak, attended Red Oak Schools all 12 years and is truly an example for RO graduates to follow.  Red Oak High School is proud of you Kevin, and congratulate you on being this year's Distinguished Alumnus!
