Mr. Jack Springer (LT USN Ret.)
Welcome Aboard!
I am Lieutenant (USN, Retired) Jack Springer and I am the Senior Naval Science Instructor. I served in the United States Navy for over 22 years as an enlisted member and commissioned officer. I have been a NJROTC instructor since 2021. During my Naval service, I operated as an enlisted medic, deep sea diver, trauma RN, and training/administration officer. My conference period is from 8:25-9:12. My goal is to create a learning environment that will help develop our our cadets into well-rounded, well-adjusted, challenge seekers who embrace the concept of teamwork and perseverance.
Navy JROTC is about citizenship, teamwork, and leadership. We are a student-run organization that gives everyone a chance to be part of a team and it provides opportunities to lead that team. We have a diverse curriculum based on academics in the Naval Sciences and physical education (students get PE credit in JROTC). We also concentrate on drills as this reinforces our focus areas by teaching students teamwork, attention to detail, and self-discipline. Our students also enjoy the benefits of being part of something that provides an instant connection to Red Oak High School. NJROTC students can attend football games together, compete in meets against other schools, host a military ball, perform community service, attend orienteering campouts, practice marksmanship, and they can carry our nation’s flag at school and community events as a part of one of multiple Color Guard teams that we sponsor.
We will strive for perfection and only settle for excellence.
