My name is Irene Halbert and I have been teaching for 39 years.  I attended Lubbock Christian College and graduated with a Bachelor of Science with Physical Education being my major and History being my minor. I had the opportunity to play college Volleyball and a year of Basketball while attending college.

I am married to Blair Halbert who works for the City of South Lake as the IT Director.  I have 3 daughters, Brooke who is a graduate of Texas Tech and is married to Dr. Karl Mueller and they live in Jacksonville Fl., Candace, who works for Oakwood Academy in Arlington and is married to Cody Blake and Shannon Halbert who is a also a graduate of Texas Tech and is a Nurse at Baylor Scott and White in Dallas,Texas.  I also have a 10 year old grandson, Hunter, he will be a 5th grader this year at Longbranch Elementary in Midlothian, Texas and plays select soccer and baseball, and he has a brother, Tatum Ryan, who is 10 months old. I have 3 dogs, a Border Collie named Bonnie, a Terrier named Brady and a German Shepard named Revillie. 

I have been teaching in Red Oak for 17 years and I am currently teaching World History and Varsity Assistant in Volleyball, and Varsity Assistant in Soccer this year.
