HEY THERE AND WELCOME!

My name is Sarah Shumaker and I teach the Hawk Success program and help with Credit Recovery here at Red Oak High School.

When I started my career here at Red Oak ISD, I was substituting to figure out where I felt at home. I was offered a long-term substitute position in Red Oak High School with the Hawk Success Program in February 2017 and have grown with the program for the last 7 years. I have also worked closely with the Credit Recovery teachers since we use the same online curriculum for our students. I'm beginning my 8th year with Red Oak ISD and starting my 5th year as a certified teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. I'm so excited to meet all the students in both programs and help them be successful in their high school careers. 

I am passionate about the Hawk Success Program at Red Oak High School. The mission and purpose of the Hawk Success Program is to provide students in at-risk situations with the opportunity to attain academic excellence in a non-traditional educational setting through accelerated instruction. The program strives to offer students the opportunity to achieve their full potential in a structured, supportive, and rigorous environment. Our staff is dedicated to helping students who have difficulty succeeding in a traditional high school setting achieve their educational and vocational goals. Our priority is to help students graduate with their high school diplomas and be proud Red Oak High School graduates. Go Hawks!
