The result of a year-long pilot program, the 6th Grade Center is outfitted with technology and furniture designed to promote critical thinking, collaboration and innovation. Nearly every classroom in the building is equipped with an entire white-board dry erase wall called a Collaboration Wall. An ultra-bright short throw projector is mounted few inches away that allows students to interact with the projected lessons simultaneously or individually. Student desks are equipped with white-board tops and wheel bases allowing for collaboration and flexibility in the instructional environment. Essentially the entire classroom is wireless. The teachers and students can interact with the projection from any wi-fi capable device. The 21st Century Design Concept at the Red Oak Middle School 6th Grade Center is designed for a 21st century student.
