Here's a little about me, your librarian.

I am a graduate of Red Oak High School and have lived in Red Oak since 1978. Shields opened that year and I attended 5th grade there. It's been an absolute pleasure to be able to teach in the same building, the new Shields, and district that I grew up in. 

I began teaching in 1992 and taught 3rd grade for 15 years. I joined Red Oak ISD in 1998. In 2007, I became the librarian at Shields. I completed my Masters of Library Science degree from North Texas University in 2008. 

I have a son in the 11th grade and my husband is in education also, in a neighboring district. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, baking, watching baseball, gardening, traveling, and spending time with my family. 

The library is my favorite place and I hope you will love it too!!

Schedule - Students will come to the library once a week or once every two weeks, depending on the grade level. Kinder and 1st grade will check out one book and 2nd-5th grades will check out 2 books at a time. We look forward to hosting a fall and spring book fair each year.
