My name is Denise Gibson and I teach second grade at Red Oak Elementary School. I attended Texas Woman's University where I majored in Interdisciplinary Studies and minored in Dance. I'm certified to teach EC-6 as well as ESL certified.  I've been teaching for two years, all of which have been in second grade.  I enjoy dancing, baking, shopping, and spending time with my wonderful family.  My husband and I have been married for 11yrs and have three beautiful children: Giselle 10yrs, Kellan 8yrs, and Everly 4yrs.  We also have a fur baby who is a labrador retriever named Bentley, 11yrs. They are our world and bring us so much joy!  

I absolutely love second grade and am a firm believer in making learning fun by creating authentic learning experiences as well as fostering a student-centered learning environment.  I strive to promote lifelong learning and genuinely love to witness the growth that my students experience throughout their learning journeys.  I am overjoyed to be part of the Red Oak Elementary community and am looking forward to meeting all of my second grade friends!
