Mr. Michael Blair

Teacher
Schupmann Elementary

It’s going to be a great year!

My name is Michael(Mike) Blair. My family and I have lived in Red Oak for 22 years. We love our city and school district so much, that I pursued my teaching certificate to work in our District.

I love my family very much and look forward to every minute I get to spend with them. My wife of 24 years, Chere, is a professor at Southwestern Assemblies of God University(Now changed to Nelson University) in Waxahachie. My sons Aidan(18) Student at Nelson University, and Asher(15) are both students at the ROHS. We are animal lovers with a Mountain Cur, Tuxedo cat and Russian Blue cat.

I am a graduate of SAGU class of ‘07. I  was a substitute teaching in ROISD for 3 years with long term assignments for 2 years.

My path to the classroom has not been a typical one. I have been a minister for 24 years in a local church in DeSoto. I owned my own successful business for many years, but felt the call to transition into the classroom as a teacher. I found my home in Schupmann early on in my pursuit and called it my school for the 3 years of Subbing as I filled many temporary classroom roles on campus. Finally, in 2019,  I was able to officially have my own classroom with students I love and teammates that encourage me to be a better teacher daily.

I believe in using technology as much as I can in the classroom. With our evolving culture leaning more towards technology, I believe students should be exposed to it often. My goal is to help my students become better scholars and members of our community.
