Please review the information below for all pertinent details regarding the 2026 Red Oak High School Commencement Exercises! It is imperative that you review this information in it's entirety to ensure we have another successful ceremony for our Hawks!  GRADUATION PROGRAM INFORMATION:

General Commencement Ceremony Information:

  • Date: Thursday, May 28th, 2026
  • Time: Doors will open at 3:00PM | Graduation begins promptly at 4:00PM

Commencement Ceremony Rehearsal Information:

  • Date: Wednesday, May 27th, 2026
  • Time: All students participating in the Graduation Exercises should arrive by 10AM.

Please note that commencement rehearsal is not optional for students who plan to participate in the graduation exercises. Rehearsal is important for the overall seamless execution of graduation. Failure to attend will result in removal from the commencement exercises. Should you have any questions, please contact tarrah.carr@redoakisd.org.

Ticketing Information and Seating Assignments:

  • All participating graduates will receive 8 (EIGHT) graduation tickets. 
  • Ticket distribution will only occur at graduation rehearsal on Wednesday, May 27. No exceptions. Students must be present at rehearsal to receive their allotted 8 (EIGHT) tickets. 
  • Students must have their student ID, be clear of all campus and district debts or fines, and must have returned their Red Oak Independent School District devices.
  • Per the policy of the Commencement Ceremony venue, seating is PREASSIGNED based on tickets.
  • Sitting in seats that are not assigned to your specific tickets, reserving seats for others, etc. is strictly prohibited. 
  • Seat assignments are chosen at random by the facility. Red Oak ISD is not responsible for the assignments of seats.
  • Extra tickets will be distributed on May 27th at Red Oak High School from 4:00PM-6:00PM. Please report to the foyer area near the gym. These will be distributed on a first come, first serve basis. 
  • Tickets will be available until all seats are filled on the day of the commencement exercises.

Graduation Regalia Information:

  • All students must order their cap & gown using the link below to ensure uniformity across our ceremony.

  • Students are able to purchase Red Oak ISD approved cords and stoles throughout the month of April during their assigned lunches in the Hawk's Nest. 
    • Cords will be sold at $8 per cord
    • Hoods and Stoles will be sold at $16 per hood/and or stole. 
  • Please note that students are ONLY permitted to wear OFFICIAL stoles and cords that are approved by Red Oak ISD for commencement exercises. 
  • Custom or unapproved stoles, hoods, and cords, will be confiscated prior to the beginning of Graduation, and returned after the exercises have been completed.

      • Blue Collar: National Honor Society Officers
      • White Collar: National Honor Society
      • Gold Stole: Hawks Scholars

      • Blue/Gold Stole: Naval JROTC
         
    • Approved and Permitted Red Oak ISD Graduation Cords: 
      • Gold Cord: Distinguished Achievement
      • Silver Cord: Foundation with Endorsement
      • Blue/Yellow Cord: AP Capstone
      • Teal Cord: STUCO
      • Royal Blue & Gold Cord: Thespian Honor Society
      • Navy Blue & Orange Cord: CTE Certifications
      • Maroon & White Cord: College, Career, Military Readiness
      • Red Cord: Blood Drive Donor
    • If the hoods, cords, or stoles; are not listed above, that means that are not permitted to be worn during the commencement ceremony. 
  • Students are NOT permitted to decorate graduation caps. No exceptions.

Graduation Attire Information:

  • All students participating in commencement exercises are expected to be dressed appropriately.

  • Males should wear dark slacks or a suit (we strongly encourage students not to wear jeans), dark, solid-colored shoes, with a button-down, light-colored shirt with a tie.
  • Ladies should wear a dark dress (if it extends beyond the gown), a dark skirt, or slacks (we strongly encourage students not to wear jeans), with a light-colored top, and neutral, solid-colored shoes. 
  • No accessories or additions may be made to the gown.
  • Students are not permitted to wear slippers, or shoes that resemble slippers. We strongly encourage dress shoes only. 
  • All students are expected to follow the stated dress code standards before, during, and at the conclusion of commencement exercises. Students who fail to adhere to these guidelines may face consequences that could lead to removal from the commencement exercises. The Red Oak ISD staff will help monitor the ceremony.
  • Students will not be allowed to possess cameras, cell phones, or any other electronic devices on the stage of the Dr. Jim Vaszauskas Center for the Performing Arts.

Additional Graduation Ceremony Information: 

  • All students MUST arrive to Red Oak High School by 12:00PM to board the assigned buses for the commencement ceremony. No student is permitted to drive, or ride with their families to the ceremony location. Failure to arrive on time to board buses will result in removal from the commencement ceremony. 
  • Red Oak ISD staff members will assist students with graduation regalia and attire as we load buses and at the venue prior to the processional. 
  • Parents are NOT permitted at anytime to approach the stage as this is a fire hazard and against the facilities policy.
  • Students are expected to represent Red Oak Independent School district through their behavior according to the Red Oak ISD Student Code of Conduct. Graduates who violate the student code of conduct will face consequences including but not limited to; removal from the commencement exercises. 
  • Guests are asked to follow all procedures set forth by not only Red Oak ISD but the facility as well. Failure to adhere to these guidelines, may results in lost of spectator priviledges and removal from the ceremony.

Facility Specific Information:

  • The Center opens one hour prior to each graduation and abides by a strict "no re-entry" policy during events. All guests are also subject to bag checks by security personnel. For more information about arrival/re-entry and bag check policies, please visit the Center's FAQ webpage   

  • Noisemakers, helium balloons, large signs, strollers, food, beverages, coolers, and large bags will not be permitted. They may be confiscated by the Dr. Jim Vaszauskas Center for the Performing Arts Center security. Event security may check all bags before entry. Only graduates and school officials will be allowed on the Dr. Jim Vaszauskas Center for the Performing Arts stage or isles.
  • After the ceremony, families should plan to meet graduates outside of the Dr. Jim Vaszauskas Center for the Performing Arts. Mansfield ISD officials ask that all spectators exit the arena within 30 minutes after the ceremony's conclusion. Students/graduates will be riding home with parents/family.
  • We understand that many people are incredibly excited about their children, relatives, or friends graduating. We desire to accommodate all of you by having a serene and dignified presentation of diplomas. Please note that every senior student, whether fifty relatives and friends in the audience or solely one proud parent, deserves the right to have their name called without distraction from others.

Official Professional Graduation Photography Information:

Students will be asked to complete a specific process for the photography from graduation during rehearsal, it is imperative that students follow all the necessary steps in order to receive their photos for purchase.
