Special Education records to be destroyed

Notice of Destruction of Records

Special education eligibility and educational records are maintained for five (5) years following the date of the last recorded action for each student served by the Special Education Department of Red Oak, such as the student's graduation, dismissal from special education, or withdrawal date. At the end of five years, public notification will be posted and records will be destroyed.

The Red Oak  Independent School District Special Education Department will destroy records for 2015-2016 and years prior for students who moved from the district, graduated, were assessed for Special Education services but did not qualify, and/or students who exited the program prior to that school year.

Parents who would like to have their student’s records retained should contact Karen Pepe, Special Learning Records Manager Director, at (972) 617-2951 x by June 1, 2021.
