Board Election Postponed

At the March 23 Board Meeting, the Red Oak ISD School Board approved the postponement of the May 2 School Board election to November 3 as presented by Superintendent Sanford. This decision was made following Gov. Abbott's proclamation.

Governor Greg Abbott today (March 18, 2020) issued a proclamation suspending provisions of the Texas Election Code to allow political subdivisions to postpone their 2020 local elections. This means local governments now have the ability to postpone their May 2, 2020 elections until November 3, 2020.

Those running will not have to re-file and no new applicants will be accepted. The district will also postpone the candidate forum scheduled for April 16, 2020, til the fall.
