Lady Hawks finish with three gold medals and second in the State Meet

Congratulations to the 2025 Lady Hawks Track Team for an outstanding showing at the State Meet, May 2-3. They finished with three gold medals and second in 5A overall, scoring 54 points.

Zahria Bernard - 100 Meter - 1st Place Finish - State Champion

• 11.35 new school record
• Ended the season ranked #1 nationally (among freshmen)
• Finished the season ranked #14 in the nation (among all females)

Girls 4x100 - 1st Place Finish - State Champion

• 45.46 new school record
• Finished season ranked #1 in 5A, #11 in Texas, #16 in the nation
• Morgan Morris, Zahria Bernard, Jada Edwards and Mackenzie Garner

Girls 4x200 - 1st Place Finish - State Champion

• 1:36.16
• Finished the season ranked #1 in 5A, #7 in Texas
• Morgan Morris, Zahria Bernard, Jada Edwards and Brianna Simien

Briana Davis - Shot Put - 4th Place Finish

• Finished the season ranked #3 in Texas, #10 in the nation
• Finished season ranked #2 sophomore in the nation

In addition to the Lady Hawks, Jayden Washington on the boys’ team competed in the 800M at the State Meet. Although he sustained an injury during his race, he finished the season ranked #7 in TX among all junior 800-meter runners.
