ROISD Pre-K Enrollment and Round Up

ROISD opens online Pre-K enrollment April 2; Round Up April 9 to verify eligibility

Red Oak ISD offers FREE, full-day Pre-K at all five elementary campuses and will open online enrollment on Tuesday, April 2 at 6 p.m. Pre-K enrollment will be time-stamped when completed online and slots will be filled based on the completion time.

 

On Tuesday, April 9 from 12-6 p.m. ROISD will hold a districtwide Pre-K Round Up to verify eligibility, collect documentation, and conduct student language tests. There will be computers onsite if families still need to enroll, plus staff to verify eligibility. Families who have completed all enrollment steps and uploaded documents online will receive a fast pass ‘passport’ at the event.

 

Initial slot allotment for 2024-25 Full-Day Pre-K Programs*:

  • Eastridge ES             1 English Class (22 slots)
  • Red Oak ES              2 English Classes (44 slots)
  • Schupmann ES        2 English Class (44 slots) and 1 Dual Language Class (22 slots)
  • Shields ES                2 English Classes (44 slots)
  • Wooden ES               1 English Class (22 slots) and 1 Dual Language Class (22 slots)

 

*Additional classes will be added as enrollment warrants.

 

Parents/guardians can log on to the Red Oak ISD website (www.redoakisd.org) to enroll. Follow the New Student Online Enrollment process and upload documents, if able, including vaccination records, student proof of identification (birth certificate), parent ID, and two (2) proofs of residency (such as mortgage statement, tax statement, and utility bills; see website for acceptable documents).

 

Once the online registration/enrollment is complete, the district will contact families to schedule an intake appointment. The appointment will include any additional documentation for eligibility and/or testing required.

Pre-K helps lay a solid foundation for learning for a lifetime!”

 

ELIGIBILITY

Pre-K in Texas is for students who are four (4) years of age on or before September 1 and meet one of the following eligibility requirements:

  1. be unable to speak and comprehend the English language; or
  2. be educationally disadvantaged (eligible to participate in the National School Lunch Program [NSLP]; or
  3. be homeless; or
  4. be the child of an active duty member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who is ordered to active duty by proper authority; or
  5. be the child of a member of the armed forces of the United States, including the state military forces or a reserve component of the armed forces, who was injured or killed while serving on active duty; or
  6. have ever been in the conservatorship of the Texas DFPS (foster care) following an adversary hearing; or
  7. is the child of a person eligible for the Star of Texas Award.
