2026 School Board Trustee Candidate Filings & Voting Dates

The candidate filing and voting dates have been set for the 2026 Red Oak Independent School District's Board of Trustees election. The Board election will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2026. The election will consist of a General Election for Places 3, 4, and 5, each for a three-year term, and a Special Election for Place 6 for a one-year term.

Interested candidates may download a packet from the webpage or pick up a paper copy at the Red Oak ISD Education Service Center (Administration), 109 W. Red Oak Rd.

Candidate filing dates for the Red Oak ISD Board of Trustees election are January 14 through February 13 (Jan. 14-Feb. 12 - 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.; Fri., Feb. 13 - 8:30 a.m.-5 p.m.).

Positions up for General Election in 2026 (three-year terms):

Place 3 ­— John Anderson (incumbent)

Place 4 — Johnny Knight (incumbent)

Place 5 ­— Sean Kelly (incumbent)

Position up for Special Election in 2026 (one-year unexpired term):

Place 6 ­— Donny Lutrick (incumbent)

Early voting for the election will occur between April 20-28 - times and locations to be posted on the Ellis County Elections webpage.
