Degrees and Certifications:
Mr. David Dyke
I am excited to be a part of the Red Oak ISD family of Hawks this year. I am looking forward to an exciting year of learning. I have been teaching 3rd grade for the last six years and love Math. My goal this year to to challenge my students to become life long learners and grow in their love for math.
I a little about me. I am a husband of a wonderful wife, father of six (yes 6) beautiful children, and grandfather to a awesome grandson. My path to becoming a teacher started with me being a Youth Pastor. I grew to love youth and grew in my desire to have an impact in their lives. My wife and I then started working in foster care, as House Parents in group homes. This is where I started loving to work with children that come from a lot of diverse backgrounds, of which many brought a lot of social and emotional baggage. From there I started working in the Juvenile Justice world. First as a Juvenile Detention Officer and later as a Juvenile Probation officer. One thing that I noticed working in the Juvenile Justice System, is that most youth in the system had a history of academic failure, and did not value education. Know as a 3rd Grade teacher, I have the opportunity to have a positive impact on the students in my class. To encourage and instill in them a love for school and show them that they can be successful.
Again I look forward to partnering with you as we strive to have a great school year.
PS I love Star Wars and cheering on my Kansas City Chiefs.
