Degrees and Certifications:
Howdy Texas History students!
My name is Ms. Tumey and I am so excited to be your Pre-AP Texas History teacher this year. I have a great passion for History; I believe it can open our eyes to the world and help us better understand our current situation. The skills we will learn this year in class will be useful for the rest of your lives. In this class, we will not learn only names and dates, but we learn how to analyze and interpret historical events and how they affect our everyday lives. I hope you come to class every day ready to learn!
The University of Texas at Austin (2018)- Bachelors of Arts in History
I student taught in Round Rock ISD and was a substitute teacher in 2019 after graduating. For the 2019-2020 school year I moved to Poland to teach English and now I am back in Red Oak!
I am a Red Oak ISD graduate and I am excited to be teaching in my home town! I lived in Red Oak for the first 18 years of my life before moving to Austin for college. I studied History and Secondary Teaching, then graduated in Fall 2018. After college, I knew I wanted to pair my love of teaching and travel, so I moved to Krakow, Poland to teach English. Now, I am back home in Red Oak and ready to spend this exciting new year with you! Some of my hobbies include: reading books, cycling, watching films, gardening, and being outdoors.
