Education: Bachelor’s, Summa cum laude, Accounting from East Texas Baptist University; Master of Science from Texas A & M University – Commerce.
Bio: Vickie Benbow has worked in public education for over 20 years. Prior to that, she spent several years as an external auditor for schools and other governmental agencies. Her leadership role within public education began in a small East Texas district where she was responsible for finance, personnel, purchasing, governmental grants, and support services such as student nutrition, transportation, and maintenance. She then progressed through larger districts such as Allen ISD and Rockwall ISD. Vickie became Red Oak ISD’s Chief Financial Officer in February, 2012.
In addition to being a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the State of Texas, Vickie is a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA) as prescribed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA). She is also a Registered Texas School Business Administrator (RTSBO), the highest level of certification offered by the Texas Association of School Business Officials (TASBO). Vickie currently serves as a committee member on the Texas Skyward User Group and is Vice-Chair of the Lone Star Investment Pool Advisory Board.
Vickie enjoys spoiling her 4-legged “daughter”, an apricot poodle named Halle. She relaxes by sitting in her outdoor swing and reading. Some of her favorite authors are Ted Dekker, Debbie Macomber, and James Patterson.
