Degrees and Certifications:
Bachelor's degree UT Arlington Scottish Rite Therapist ALTA certification
Briefly about me...I am a third generation Texan, born in Dallas, and raised in Grand Prairie. Graduated from South Grand Prairie high school (SGP, we love you!), and received my degree from the University of Texas at Arlington. I've been teaching the dyslexia program at Eastridge since 2003. In 2015, the district adopted the dyslexia program developed by Scottish Rite hospital called Take Flight. I completed and graduated from that program in May, 2018, and have also received my certification from the Academic Language Therapist Association (ALTA).
I've been married for 40 years (this November) to a wonderful guy, Mike, and we have a daughter, Mrs. Hawk, who teaches first grade (and on the Eastridge campus, I might add...truly a blessing for me!). We've been empty nesters for a while now, but truth be told, it's not too bad!
Hobbies include traveling (a lot!), reading good books, enjoying music, playing guitar, and all with a hot cup of coffee whenever possible!
Thanks always for allowing me to work with your children; it is an honor and blessing to be sure!
