"As an educator, it's my duty to empower you to think. So that you can go forth and think accurate thoughts about how the world is put together."

-Neil DeGrasse Tyson

The above quote is by my all time favorite scientist, Neil DeGrasse Tyson. I am extremely passionate about science, and the importance of making each and every student a more scientifically literate citizen of the world.

I was born in Dallas and raised in DeSoto, Texas. I lived with my parents and two sisters, and was very involved in athletics, mainly competitive softball. I graduated from DeSoto High School in 2004 and then went on to Tarleton State University where I majored in Exercise and Sports Studies with a minor in Biology. I began teaching in 2010 and have taught Biology, Pre-AP Biology, AP Biology, IPC, Pre-AP Chemistry, and Chemistry, and coached softball and basketball. This will be my tenth year teaching, and my third year at Red Oak High School. I will be teaching Principles of Technology this year-- it is an applied physics course.

Some of my hobbies include reading, traveling, hiking/camping, spending time with my family and friends, watching documentaries, crafting, cooking, and taking naps!
