School counselors are assigned to every campus within Red Oak ISD to support students and families with counseling needs. In addition, support counselors are housed at secondary campuses. The role of the school counselor is to provide emotional and social support while fostering a safe and caring environment for all Red Oak ISD students.

Texas law mandates school counselors to integrate four key components through a comprehensive school guidance program. These components include a guidance curriculum, individual academic planning, responsive services, and system support. These key components are included in the Texas Model for Comprehensive School Counseling Programs which the Texas Counseling Association publishes in accordance with its licensing agreement with the Texas Education Agency.

Our mission is to provide a comprehensive counseling program that addresses all students' academic and personal/social development needs. Because we expect all students to be productive members of the school community, the counseling program will identify and remediate barriers to learning-which will help all students to soar to new heights!
