ParentSquare

Stay Connected with ROISD!

Red Oak ISD uses ParentSquare as our primary platform for school communication. Families receive messages through email, app, voice, or text, helping everyone stay informed and involved. ParentSquare is the new ROISD communication platform for all schools, classrooms, groups, teams, clubs, and the district as a whole. It will be used for general communication, event invitations, volunteer sign-ups, parent-teacher conference sign-ups, and much more.

An account is automatically created for each parent or guardian using the contact information in our student information system. We encourage you to activate your account to download the free mobile app, set your language preferences, and choose how and when you’d like to receive messages.

As a best practice, only parents are invited to ParentSquare for general communication. We ask that parents share any pertinent information with non-parents as they wish.

What you can do with ParentSquare:

Receive updates from your school via email, app, or text notification
Choose to get posts as they’re shared or bundled in a daily digest
View posts, photos, calendars, and important announcements
Communicate in your preferred language with automatic translation
Comment on school posts and stay engaged with your school community
Send direct messages to teachers and staff
Participate in group conversations with other families
Sign up for conferences and school events
Fill out forms, sign permission slips, make payments, and view report cards—all in one place

Through ParentSquare, campus staff and administration can create sign-ups for volunteer opportunities and ‘wish lists’ for items for events, activities, or classroom projects. This could include field trips, field day, parent engagement programs, and more.

Parents will be able to RSVP for events, complete permission forms, and pay for activities and other costs (module coming Sept. 2026), all from the ParentSquare app or web browser.

Frequently Asked Parent Questions

How do I register for ParentSquare?

On the app, enter your email or cell phone number. The email and/or cell phone number should match what is in the district's Skyward database.
On the web, click ‘Sign In’, then under the ‘Register’ section, put your email or phone number and click '“Go”.

If the email or phone number is not recognized by ParentSquare, parents can follow directions to request access or call the school office and ask them to update the contact information.

How do I manage my settings:

ParentSquare allows users to customize their notifications based on notification type and select their preferred delivery method for each school. The Instant setting will send all post notifications in real time. The Digest setting sends direct messages, alerts, and time-sensitive posts instantly, but sends all other posts at the end of the day, reducing the number of notifications you receive daily. (We recommend the Digest setting.) Learn more about managing notifications.

How do I subscribe to a ParentSquare calendar?

ParentSquare allows you to subscribe to the ParentSquare calendar and stay up to date with your school's activities. Select the 'Calendar' View All button on top of the calendar display, then select 'Subscribe'. Here's a step-by-step process - https://parentsquare.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/360037536132-Subscribe-to-ParentSquare-Calendar

Will parents receive notifications even if they don't activate their account or sign up?

Yes. All parents have a ParentSquare account. ParentSquare is the primary tool for district and school communication. Individuals who do not activate their account in ParentSquare will still receive an email digest at the end of each day that communication is sent out to them. They will also receive an alert in real time if one is sent from their student's campus.

I don't have a child at the school or we no longer attend ROISD. Can you take me off the list?

Click “Unsubscribe” link on your email from ParentSquare or reply STOP to the SMS from ParentSquare to stop notifications to your email or phone.

* If the email or phone number is not recognized by ParentSquare, parents can call the school office attendance/registar’s clerk and ask them to update the contact information.

RSVP, Forms Modules

RSVP Module

ParentSquare posts allow staff to enter an event or activity as a Calendar Entry, with or without an RSVP option. RSVPs allow the school or group to plan accordingly for the number of people who will be attending. This is important for numerous logistical matters, including facility space, seating, food, security, and more.

When you review a post with a calendar entry, check if there is an RSVP
Simply check YES or NO if you plan to attend.

Forms / Permissions Module

ParentSquare posts allow staff to request a form be completed for permission to participate or attend an activity, release for approval such as media coverage, or other parental agreement for their student(s). Forms can be translated to the parent's preferred language.

Forms may:

Be for required parental signature for permission, approval, or verification
Have optional or mandatory attachments for parent review
Require student information as part of the submission
Require payment with form submission (when the pay module is activated)

ParentSquare PAY

ROISD Activation Coming Soon!

ParentSquare Pay brings school payments directly into the platform your community already uses for communication. From field trips to fees to tickets and donations, families can make payments with just a few clicks in the same place they receive school notifications and updates.

Schools can request payments through posts for upcoming events and activities - including payments required with form submissions - or send invoices for required fees, with all transactions managed through a Stripe integration.

Payments can be set up to request payments via a post
- Designated campus approval is required to publish payment requests before they appear in the feed.
- Payment requests can also be tied to a form, such as a permission form for a field trip and the payment submission on the same post.
Invoicing allows administration to create and send direct invoices for sports fees or competition costs, exam payments, technology or textbook fees, afterschool care, or other expenses.
Pay can also be used to accept donations with guest payment options for community-wide campaigns.
