Welcome, Hawks!

I am pleased to be your 8^th grade Reading Language Arts teacher! I cannot wait to get to know each of my students and join them on their path to academic success. We have a lot to learn this year, and it is my goal to guide each of my students every step of the way. 

I graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington in 2017 and pursued a career as an optician, which is the field that I worked in throughout college. However, in 2020, I reassessed my career and life goals and concluded that I want to serve my community as an educator. Life-long learning and education are two things that I am passionate about, and it thrills me to begin this new chapter of my life. 

In my free time I enjoy playing the guitar and writing music. I have been a guitarist since I was ten years old, and music is an integral part of my life. Additionally, I like to travel and spend time with my friends and family.
