Karan Willis
Hello! My name is Karan Willis, and I am the Auditory Specialist for Red Oak ISD. I have the privilege of working in all the schools in Red Oak providing services to students with hearing loss from birth to graduation. My teaching assignment allows me to partner with teachers, families, and students. I consider this one of the best parts of my job. I believe in creating a strong support team for each student I serve.
I grew up in Abilene, Texas and went on to Texas Tech University where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Deaf Education. After graduating, I taught in the Amarillo Regional Day School Program. During that time, I taught deaf and hard of hearing students from 0-3 years of age. My experience in the program included spoken language and signed communication instruction. I also provided services as a Parent Advisor to families in the program.
I have served on the board of Texas Hands & Voices. This is an organization that supports families of deaf and hard of hearing children without bias to communication choices all over the state of Texas.
When I am not working, I love hiking, camping, and spending time with my family. My husband, Steve, and I have 4 wonderful children who are enjoying adult life!
